Simple "Do-it-Yourself" Oracle Reading

This exercise is simple and can be a joy to do on your own. A tip to remember in the metaphysical and divination realm is- it is easier than you think! This exercise is a simple way to practice day to day divination technique that will enable you to “dip your toes” into the world of divination. This technique is an excellent way to open your intuition.  All you need is a book! This book can be a personal favorite book, bible, dictionary, or even a literary classic. 1. Choose a comfortable and quiet setting to sit with your book of choice. Relax and clear your mind. 2. Focus on your chosen book and riffle through the pages. As you do so, think of a simple question (for example, “What will today be like?”) and focus on this questions as you flip through pages. 3. Allow a page to “call to you” and open to this page. A line will call your attention. This will be your message. Intuitively the page calls out to you and it brings you to your message.

Mystical Techniques: Tea Leaves

Tasseomancy is the term given to the art of interpreting patterns within tea leaves, wine sediments, or coffee grounds. It is considered that the grounds closest to the rim symbolize the nearest future while those closest to the bottom are considered to be in the more distant future. Instructions for tea leaf reading are below: 1. Begin by calming your body and mind and make a pot of tea with loose tea leaves. As you sip your tea, think of a question and concentrate on it. For your first try, try a simple one. 2. When there is barely any tea left, turn cup counter clockwise three wise and cover with saucer then tip upside down to allow all liquid to drain out onto the saucer. 3. Look into the cup to reveal the remaining leaves and shapes that have emerged. Read in a spiral motion from the inside towards the outside. Resource: Sarah Bartlett. (2012).
